Richest Mogul

Chapter 1564

Skylar couldn't sleep. She opened the curtains. The sky was still dark, but the rain had stopped.

She had checked the weather forecast last night. It predicted more rain today.

As long as it wasn't a storm or severe condition, the flights shouldn't be affected. Thinking of this, she chuckled softly to herself. She was already missing Joe.

He hadn't been away for long. There had been plenty of business trips like this. Maybe it was the gloomy weather, the constant rain, and the lack of sunlight that were messing with her emotions.

She reached for a bottle of water, twisted off the cap, and took a sip. The coolness grounded her, waking her up even more.

Her mind lingered on a dream from the night before. In it, she and Joe were arguing, both consumed by suspicion due to a misunderstanding.noveldrama

Dreams like that were rare but unsettling. Once they appeared, they clung to her, leaving her uneasy. Life had been so peaceful and happy these past few years that a dream like this felt more like a warning.

She shook her head, chuckling softly. Work was a better distraction. Muriel had sent her a few design drafts and needed her feedback, but she had been too busy to take a proper look.

Now seemed like a good time.

...

At the airport, everything seemed to be running smoothly.

Flights to Jipsburg City were all on schedule. When Paul rebooked their ticket for today, he had been worried there might still be delays or cancellations.

Thankfully, the weather in Jipsburg had improved compared to yesterday.

After passing through security, they sat down to wait for boarding. Paul glanced around and suddenly froze.

He recognized a familiar figure.

Paul raised an eyebrow immediately and turned to Joe. "Mr. Martin, I just saw a familiar face."

Paul thought, "Could it really be this much of a coincidence?"

Joe glanced up, following Paul's gaze. A young woman, her eyes red and her head lowered, was walking in their direction.

"She's Elsie Shepard. She took an

internship over the summer as Mr. Rowe's secretary." Paul had only recently asked someone to

investigate the nature of Elsie's net

relationship with Alban, but no solid conclusions had come up yet.

Yesterday, they had run into her in the hotel elevator. And now, here she was again, at the airport.

But Alban was nowhere to be seen.

Joe's gaze flickered slightly, his expression remaining calm and detached. "Hmm," he responded lighted, withdrawing his gaze.

Paul opened his mouth as if to speak but stopped himself. Given the current situation, he decided it was better to remain silent. It wasn't the time for unnecessary speculation.

Sometimes, his instincts led him to conclusions that weren't always accurate. Still, despite himself, Paul couldn't resist stealing another glance at Elsie.

Elsie had already taken a seat,

keeping her head down. Unlike most

travelers, she wasn't playing on her phone or glancing around out of

boredom. She seemed lost in

thought, almost dazed.

Paul's quiet observation didn't go unnoticed. Elsie could feel his gaze, and it made her even more nervous.

She dared not lift her head, let alone

look toward Joe and Paul. She

feared that Joe might start suspecting her presence here, even though it was an airport, a place open to everyone.

But sometimes, too many coincidences could make people wary.

The last thing she wanted was to leave a bad impression on Joe. After all, she dreamed of making her first real romance perfect.

Taking a deep breath, she tried to steady herself.
